UPDATE: Burleson City Council shifts date of special meeting to Feb. 16
BURLESON – The special Burleson City Council meeting has been moved to Thursday, Feb. 16 from Monday, Feb. 13, officials announced Friday, Feb. 10.
"The change was made to avoid the conflict with a scheduled Burleson ISD school board meeting," announced DeAnna Phillips, the city of Burleson's marketing and communications director. "The decision to move this meeting was made to accommodate those who would like to attend both meetings."
Again, the City Council will not take any action, but several questions have been raised concerning multi-family development.
City staff will present a variety of information to include details of specific multi-family development during the Special City Council meeting at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 16 at Burleson City Hall, 141 W. Renfro.
"There will be an opportunity for citizens to comment during the meeting," Phillips stated. "Any citizen with questions or concerns about multi-family development is encouraged to attend."

BURLESON – The Burleson City Council intends to conduct a special meeting next week to discuss multi-family housing and development, authorities have announced.
Mayor Ken Shetter told a packed audience at Monday night’s council meeting that this meeting was called because of many public questions – and some publicly-spread misinformation – about the topic recently.
“There have been a lot of questions,” the mayor said. “ … We are having that meeting to lay out what the policy is in regard to multi family housing. … We hope to get public input and provide a forum if anyone has anything to say.”
City officials are expecting a multitude of questions regarding multi-family development – and subsequently, city staff will be ready to discuss details, officials said.
There will be an opportunity for citizens to speak during the meeting. Anyone with questions or concerns about multi-family development is encouraged to attend, according to a news release by DeAnna Phillips, marketing & communications director for the city.
But no official action will be taken by the council during that meeting, which takes place at 7 p.m. Feb. 13 at Burleson City Hall, 141 W. Renfro.
“There will be no items on the agenda,” the mayor said.
